Porcelain insulators quality Control Process includes raw materials, quartz, clays, coloring oxides, body and glaze, also includes insulators tests which are to ensure the porcelain insulators quality and performance.

Raw Materials
Visual inspection for any dust or foreign materials especially free iron. For ensuring good quality we conduct Firing Test in which powder sample is taken and fired for color and fluidity.

Quartz
Visual inspection for any dust or foreign materials especially free iron. For ensuring good quality, we conduct Firing Test for color and liquidity.

Clays
We carry out several tests for each lot such as grit content on 300 mesh, dry shrinkage, fixed shrinkage, free moisture content and fired color.

Coloring Oxides
(Iron, Chrome & Maganese) 1% of the oxide (under test) is to be mixed with white glaze and compared with standard oxide. Now both the samples are fired under identical conditions. Identity of the color to be compared.

Body
Several tests carried out during and after the formation of the body such as residue of every discharge, green shrinkage, firing shrinkage, porosity and green strength at different time intervals.

Glaze
Various tests are conducted during and after the formation of the glaze such as testing the residue, flow of glaze and fire test.
